Understanding Long-Term Thinking
One of the biggest mistakes beginners make is focusing only on immediate placements.
New players often:
- clear lines too aggressively
- ignore future positioning
- create awkward gaps
- block important areas of the board
At first, these mistakes may not seem dangerous because the board still has enough free space. However, over time, poor positioning creates increasingly difficult situations that eventually become impossible to recover from.
Experienced players constantly think several moves ahead. Instead of asking “Where can I place this block right now?”, they ask:
- “How will this affect future turns?”
- “Will this placement limit my options later?”
- “Am I preserving enough flexible space?”
This mindset completely changes the way the game is played.
